In Chicago for a concert and found La Mexicana across the street, thought I would have an app while I wait. It was joy what I expected. It had more of a fast food vibe. You can either order at the kiosk screens they have or at the counter. I ordered the Mexi-fries with steak as my protein. Steak is a $3.00 up charge. They were alright, but a bit more Americanized than I thought they’d be. The dish was drowning in yellow cheese. The steak was good, the whole dish was good, but I’d probably not order the fries again. They also have desserts, 3 leches cake, churros, and fried ice cream, but I did not see them on the menu. The only thing I saw about dessert was a sign they had on the table after you sit down.

Loved the food. Price is deent for downtown, great choice and taste. Folks behind the counter are all young kids, hence a little arrogant. Atmosphere is Ok, small seating place and more take out. All in all a great place for food

We recently ordered catering from La Mexicana Grill, and it was an incredible experience! We booked on Tuesday for Wednesday, and they were super accommodating. We opted for the taco bar with carne asada, chicken, rice, and beans. Everything was top-notch – from the abundance of sauces to the fresh ingredients and tortillas. They did an excellent job for our group of 10, and the quality surpassed our expectations. La Mexicana Grill is a gem – fantastic service, delicious food, and surprisingly affordable. We highly recommend it!

went there and had some fantastic tacos. The quality of food was phenomenal, and the girl working the register was sweet, and the cooks were quick . So happy we stopped here on a whim.

Fantastic vegetarian and vegan options. Their tofu is excellent -- firm and flavorful and not at all greasy -- and available as a protein option for nearly all dishes (they also offer grilled veggies and guacamole, as well as my wife’s favorite option, fried avocado). I love the Tofu Bowl, which is affordable, relatively healthy, and just filling enough. Open late, so perfect for a bite after a concert at Metro or nighttime Cubs game. Friendly customer service. Pleasant dining area. And don't forget to add their outstanding churros and fried plantains (order the latter without cheese if you want them vegan). If you are ordering delivery, order direct from the restaurant: you can get points and periodic discount offers, and you get more money to the restaurant.

Love the food here but the attitude they can keep. Just got off work wanted something to eat placed my order online to pick up and all I got was attitude. Believed me I have all the sympathy in the world for restaurants workers and truly appreciate y’all, but don’t take your frustration out on your customers.

Stopped by after a Cubs game and we were not disappointed. I recommend their steak tacos, my boyfriend loves the surf n turf burrito. Give them a try.

I got an Uber Eats from here so I don't know what the physcial location was like, but the pulled chicken torta I got was life-changing. That sandwich was so good I'm definitely going to visit in-person sometime. My food was delivered very quickly, and still warm :) Looking forward to eating here soon.
